Luang Pho Num, Nang Nai Thammigaram Temple, Wiset Chaichan District, Ang-Thong
Luang Pho Num was a famous guru monk of Ang-Thong who was highly respected by people. His sacred objects are very popular. Luang Pho Num was born on 15th August 2426 B.E. His father and mother named Son and Jam, respectively. His family name was Sonkaewdara. He was born at Ban Sam Jun, Wang Num Chai Sub-district, Sri Prajun Disttrict, Suphanburi. At the age of 10 years old, he began studying Thai and Khmer language with the monk master Puang.
He was ordained at the age of 20, at Pai Na Temple, Pai Na Sub-district, Sri Prajun Disttrict, Suphanburi. The preceptor was Phra Kru Thammasarn Raksa (Aon). Phra Paladdee, Pujao Temple and Phra Ajarn Chang were the first and second ordination teacher, respectively. He studied the Code of monastic discipline at Sama Jun Temple for 8 years and then he moved to Luang Suntraram Temple, Sanjao Rongthong Sub-district, Wiset Chaichan District, Ang-Thong. It is because at that time Sema Jun Temple was under construction. When the construction finished, he moved back to Sam Jun Temple again.
In 2459 B.E., the abbot position of Luang Temple was empty, local people invited Laung Pho Num to be a new abbot. He was an abbot of Luang Temple for 10 years and moved to be an abbot at Nang Nai Thammigaram Temple. In 2469 B.E., he began to re-construct the temple, pagoda, ordination hall. Thus, Nang Nai Thammigaram Temple has been an elegant and beautiful temple until this day.
In 2473 B.E., he was appointed to be Ecclesiastical chief of village San Jao Rong Thong. In 2477 B.E., he was appointed as a preceptor. He built school of Nang Nai Temple, the roads around temple, bridge over Sam Jun river connected between Ang Thong and Suphanburi and school at Ban Samnor, Suphaburi.
Luang Pho Num was seriously practiced monk in the code of monastic discipline. He taught people and monks the meditation. Luang Pho Num was a close friend with Luang Pho Derm, Nongpo Temple.
Luang Pho Num governed Nang Nai Temple for 30 years and died on 13th August 2497 B.E. at the age of 71 years and served Buddhist faith for 51 years.
His sacred objects are medal, powder amulet, soil-substance amulet and talisman. His sacred objects are well-known and have high demands among amulet collectors. The price of fist series medal is in middle ten thousand baht.
