Wat Phaya Dam (วัดพญาดำ)

Wat Phaya Dam is located at the southwest edge of Si Satchanalai outside of the Ramnarong city gate.it probably built in the late Sukhothai period, Its chief attraction is a nearly intact mandapa with a distinctive arched roof made of laterite (a type of soft rock rich in iron oxide), standing on a tri-level base. The interior of the mandapa is barrel vaulted with two image halls on the east and west, which once housed a seated and standing Buddha image, respectively. The exterior of the mandapa is now mostly bare but was originally covered entirely in stucco.

To the east of the mandapa are the remains of a viharn. To the west are the ruins of an open hall which probably once enshrined a reclining Buddha image. The bases of 41 minor stupas are also scattered around the site.

Wat Phaya Dam is the one sacred and holy temple from sukothai area, local people believe that many sacred objects and treasures are buried in the vicinity of this Wat.

In the past this temple was used for very many great religious rituals, and Phra Kru that found from this Kru have blessing power for Smooth life, Wealth and Protection.

This is one of the Phra Kru that very rare and hars to find in this condition nowadays, Collector item recommended..!
