The discovery of Leela Kru Wiharn Loy, start from B.E 2333 when Burmese army attack Sukothai city, they destroy many place and temple on that time. Burmese army shoot the cannon to destroy this temple. The building of temple was damage, but the attack did not damage the Statue Buddha in the temple, this Buddha known as Phra Luong Pho Toh Wiharn Loi.

This Buddha was abandoned there without roof until 24xx B.E, One day villager found this Pra Buddha near big tree and clearing the area, villager want to made temple building to cover this Buddha.

Then they try to moving the big Buddha and found hundreds this Phra Leela under the Buddha Luong Pho Toh Wiharn Loi, then people called it as Phra Leela Kru Wiharn Loi.

This Phra Leela is known created since Sukothai kingdom era, made same era when with statue of Luong Pho Toh Wiharn Loi around 600-700 years ago. This Phra Leela have blessing power for smooth life and protection from all dangers.

It was at Sukhothai kingdom era that the most beautiful and top art characteristic of Phra Leela, till today Phra Leela is respected as one of the most beautiful art of Buddha in the world.
