Luang Phor Iam, (Jao khun Tao) was born during the period of King Rama 3 in the Bangkuntien district of Bangkok on October 5th, B.E.2375,to the family of Mr. Tong and Mrs Ue. It was assumed that his father was a Mon and his mother was of Chinese dissent.

At the age of 9, Luang Por Yiam began his formal studies at Wat Nang. Later, when he was 11 years old, Luang Por Yiam went to study at Wat Bowan, and after sometime, he moved to Wat Rajburana to continue his studies. At the age of 19, Luang Por Yiam was ordained as a novice at Wat Nang Ratchaworawiharn for a short period.

When Luang Poo Yiam was 22 years old, he became a monk at Wat Rahtrasahrahm, and his preceptor was Phra Sudthuma Thera (Gert) , Phra Thammajadee (Jeen) and Phra Acharnn Rort, Wat Nang Norng were his Dhamma teachers.

Later on, Luang Por Yiam also studied Dhamma under Phra Pahwanah gohson (Rort), Phra Thammajadee and Phra Sangwonwemon (Men).Luang Poo Yiam was a very hard-working monk, and very soon he was promoted to Phra Baikigah (monk title) and subsequently became Phra Palat Tahnukrom (monk title).

When Luang Por Yiam reached 16th Pan Sah (rain retreat), the 5th King bestowed the title of Pra Kru to Luang Poo Yiam. Luang Por Yiam returned to Wat Nang and became the abbot of Wat Nang Ratchaworawiharn.

In B.E 2442, Luang Por Yiam attained the title Phra Kru Rahchah Kana.

Luang Por Yiam was a monk who has observed the precepts of a monk strictly. He has never accepted material things given to him by the lay people, except those which were meant to build Wat Nang. Many people respected Luang Por Yiam, and his metta travelled both far and near, such that many people would bring their children to be ordained under Luang Por Yiam.

The 5th King was one who respected Luang Por Yiam very much and treated Luang Por Yiam as his teacher. Luang Por Yiam has ever taught the 5th King a special katha for Metta MahaNiyom (Loving-Kindness), and the 5th King would always use this kathah where ever he go.

This katha is called Kathah It Ti Pi Soh Rian Dteui:

“It Ti Pi Soh We Se Se It
It Se Se Put Tat Nah Me It
It Me Nah Put Tat Dta Soh It
It Soh Dta Put Tat Pi Dti It”

Luang Por Yiam has never felt arrogant due to the attention and his popularity, instead he always mentioned that he was just an ordinary monk, and was not as good as any of his teachers who had taught him Dhamma

Luang Por Yiam metal base Phra Pitta is among the top 5(benjapakee) also Lp’s Rian are also among top 5(benjapakee) so as his Tarkut also among the top few. Lp Yiam also famous for other talismans like maktui, takrut , ect. Most of Lp Yiam amulet are very expensive and some amulet price range from afew hundred thousand to millions.

Luong Por Yiam passed away peacefully on
29 April 2469 B.E. Despite the fact that he died almost a century ago his amulets are considered to be amongst the very best ever to have been consecrated.
