LUANG PU TOH

LUANG PU TOH

Luang Pu Toh was born on March 27 BE 2430 in Bangkoktee district, Samutsongkram Province. His father is called Mr Loy while his mother is Mrs Tub Ruttanakon. Luang Pu Toh was the oldest child as he still had a younger brother called Mr Chuey.

While he was at the age of 13, both his parents had passed away. Luang Phor Kaew who was a relative of his decided to move him away and let him stay at Wat Pradoochimplee, where he was educated by Luang Poo Suek (then-abbot of Wat Pradoochimplee).

4 years later, Luang Pu Toh was ordained as a novice but an unfortunate thing happened one day after, Luang Phor Suek passed away.

As a result Mr Klai and Mrs Pun who both are the relatives of Luang Phor Suek decided that they would do their best to support Luang Pu Toh until he reached the age of 20. Whereby he would be ordained as a monk by Luang Phor Saeng ( Phra Kru Sammana Tamsamahtahn) Wat Paknam on July 16, BE2540. The preceptor was Phra Kru TammawiRat (Chei) Wat GumPaeng.

At the time he was renamed “Intasuwanno ”. after Luang Phor Suek, by the son of Mr Klai, Luang Phor Kum the Abbot of Wat Pradoochimplee.

Luang Pu Toh was a dedicated and merciful monk, highly respected by the locals, but he wanted to learn more about Lord Buddha’s Dharma and magic sciences. Because of his desire and quest for knowledge he actually moved away to Wat Bhoti in Bangkok. It was not long however that the locals pleaded for his return.

When Luang Pu Toh had reached the age of 26, the abbot left his position at Wat Pradoochimplee and Luang Pu Toh succeeded him. In fact, Luang Pu Toh remained as the abbot of Wat Pradoochimplee until he passed on.

The interesting thing was that Luang Pu Toh was so interested in magic even before he was ordained as a monk as he would learn from Luang Phor Phromma who was then the abbot of Wat Pradoochimplee.

After Luang Phor Phromma had passed away, Luang Pu Toh would study under the guidances of many senior monks such as Luang Phor Roong Wat Takrabue, Samutsakorn Province, Luang Phor Niam Wat Noi Suphanburi Province, Luang Phor Pum Wat Bangkok.

Moreover, Luang Phor Parn Wat Bang Nom Kho had introduced Luang Pu Toh to Luang Phor Nong, from whom he learned a lot of magic sciences, so much so that Luang Pu Toh regarded him as his principal.

Whenever Luang Pu Toh began to join the ceremonies he also attempted to seek further knowledge. A close follower of Luang Pu Toh revealed that every time he was invited to a ceremony he would touch the sacred thread, and would be able to sense something, if Luang Pu Toh was to sense something he would inquire as to who created the sacred thread in order to learn further.

As a matter of fact, Luang Pu Toh was involved in many mass chanting ceremonies such as Phra Somdej Luang Phor Pae Roon Rahk chanting at Wat Suthat in BE 2494, 25 Puttawat chanting in BE 2500, Phra Luang Phor BE chanting in Wat Pras 2506, Phra Somdej 09 chanting at Wat Bankhunprom in BE2509, Phra Somdej Roy Pee chanting at Wat Rakang in BE2515.

Even though he had been appointed as the abbot of Wat Pradoochimplee, Luang Pu Toh would spend much time traveling to seek knowledge that he desired.

Beside the lay people, King Rama 9 and the royal family respected Luang Pu Toh very much.

People will each draw some spells to make sutra powder (yellow-white), mix them together and bless them together, and divide them into three parts and bring them back to the temple. Every time Luang Pu Toh is invited to some big pujas, the ceremony There will be at most 108 eminent monks. During the consecration process, the eminent monks can sense which master has special power, and then follow this master to learn.

In addition to the Thai people, the ninth king of Thailand and members of the royal family also respect Luang Pu Toh very much. It is not difficult to see their group photos in many places in Thailand. In BE 2463, Luang Pu Toh supervised the creation of the first sacred object Somdej , and then Luang Pu Toh continued to supervise the production of other holy objects. Luang Pu Toh actually used a lot of energy to supervise the production of 13 different versions of Somdej in the early days. The must-play amulet supervised by the master is known as the most effective in modern times. The amulets are mostly made of three different versions of ancient scriptures, pollen or incense ash, which will add Somdej Toh Somdej amulet powder, early white olive amulet powder, Monk King Amulet powder from the era of the fourth emperor, and Luang Pu Toh and other eminent monks co-produced handwritten scripture powder (Pengyi Tiejie), and sometimes some special holy objects will be added.

At the bottom of some amulets, the master’s handwritten pagoda will also be added, which is relatively more precious and rare. After the amulet is cast, some of the amulets will be placed in holy water for blessing. Some people have seen those blessed in the water and they will float to the surface ( The normal physical conditions should sink to the bottom), the master supervision system must open the light ceremony mostly for three months to complete.

He thought it was inevitable. , how did he know that only his feet were broken when he landed, and the rest of his body was fine. At that time, he was wearing the Luang Pu Toh supervisor’s must-hit, and many people became rich and wealthy after wearing it, and their lives were worry-free.

But Luang Pu Toh refused, and said: Avalokitesvara is Chinese, I am Thai, and I have already believed in Buddhism, so I cannot follow you. Luang Pu Toh opened his eyes and saw that Guanyin Bodhisattva was solemn and shining brightly Avalokitesvara invited Luang Pu Toh to become a disciple of “Mahayana Buddhism”, and gave Luang Pu Toh a set of northern cassock. Luang Pu Toh also forgot for a moment, so he put on the cassock. After wearing it for a while, he came to his senses , Hurry up and take off the Northern Chuan cassock. Luang Pu Toh said that he left home to practice in order to get rid of suffering and become an arhat. He never thought about practicing the Bodhisattva way. Toh said: I hope that from now on, you will be able to eat vegetarian food every year on the Nine Emperor Gods’ birthday and wear the cassock of the Northern Tradition. After speaking, I disappeared with the Eight Immortals.

After Guan Yin Bodhisattva left, Luang Pu Toh did not become a vegetarian on the Nine Emperor Gods’ Day that year. Luang Pu Toh believes that he did not make any promises at that time. However, Luang Pu Toh became seriously ill during that period. However, Luang Pu Toh still did not believe that it was related to his non-vegetarian diet. In the following year, Luang Pu Toh still did not become a vegetarian, and became seriously ill again. As a result, Luang Pu Toh made a vow that if the disease was cured, he would become a vegetarian every year. As a result, the disease was also cured.
