LUANG PHOR THONGDUM

Luang Phor Thongdum was born on 19 August BE 2477 at the village of Prangu in Sri Saket Province. He was ranked as the third child in his family as he has two elder siblings and 1 younger sibling. 

As a matter of fact, Thongdum Puiob was Luang Phor Thongdum’s name before he was ordained as a monk. Meanwhile when he was young, he received his education at Wat Ban Prasat until the age of 10. Partly due to his family suffering from poverty, He was required to quit his studies and return back home to help his family out in farming their land. 

So by the time he reached the age of 22, Luang Phor Thongdum went to study with various teachers such as Phra Kru Virutammagij, Ajarn Ngow and Ajarn Poh at Wat Samoh which is located at the Prangu District in Sri Saket Province. After sometime, he attained higher level in Dharma studies. Hence, Luang Phor Thongdum went to approach Luang Phor Mun Wat Prasat Yea Neua and Ajarn Thongsook Wat Ban Pet who both respectively taught him about Wicha. 

It was through learning from Ajarn Thongsook that Luang Phor Thongdum received teachings on Sak Yant. Soon after, Luang Phor Thongdum finished his learning from Ajarn Thongsook he was assigned as the abbot of Wat Prasat Jant Ngo. He spent twelve years rebuilding the temple as instructed by Luang Phor Mun. Once the temple was rebuilt, Luang Phor Thongdum was able to go Tudong once again.  

During one of his Tudong, Luang Phor Thongdum traveled through Ubon Ratchathani where he met Ajarn Hom who is believed to have successfully attained high level in meditation practice. Therefore, Luang Phor Thongdum grabbed this opportunity and decided to learn from Ajarn Hom whereby he would also practice meditation together with Ajarn Hom. They would stay in the forest whereby Luang Phor Thongdum simultaneously continued his Wicha practice.

However, every morning Luang Phor Thongdum would join Ajarn Hom for alms round across the border into Laos. After many years of learning, Luang Phor Thongdum finally completed his studies with Ajarn Hom. Before leaving, Ajarn Hom passed Luang Phor Thongdum a Buddhist scripture ( Phra Dhamma Gaow Goti). Afterwards, Luang Phor Thongdum then continued with his Tudong. 

In BE 2512, Luang Phor Thongdum arrived at Lopburi. While he was taking a rest at Tham Phra Narai Khao Wong, he got invited by Nang Pisamai to an eerie and quiet place, which later became known as Wat Tham Tapian Thong. Back in those days, most people believed that it was haunted, so no one dared to go nearby. Luang Phor Thongdum did not care less and decided to stay there. Then he found an undiscovered cave. Thus, Luang Phor Thongdum decided to reside in the cave.

The news spread fast. Soon many people would come to visit Luang Phor Thongdum in the cave. At that time, Luang Phor Thongdum would start doing Sak Yant for his devotees. As time passed by, Luang Phor Thongdum’s Sak Yant became very well known. Unfortunately some of his devotees misused their Sak Yant by doing bad things which soon led to Luang Phor Thongdum being summoned by the government and ordered him to stop doing Sak Yant for his devotees.

It was until BE 2520 to 2524, Luang Phor Thongdum got frequently invited to Bangkok for blessing ceremonies. During that time, he managed met many other well known monks such as Luang Pu Toh Wat Pradoochimplee; Luang Phor Eia Wat Bandan; Luang Phor Kammi Wat Tham Kuha Sawan; Luang Phor Tit Wat Palelai; Luang Phor Sud Wat Kalong and Luang Phor Pring Wat Bod Gong Tanu.

During one of his visits to Bangkok, Luang Phor Thongdum recognized Luang Pu Toh’s skills in samadhi. Thus, Luang Phor Thongdum took the opportunity to study Wicha from Luang Pu Toh as well. Since then, he resides in Wat Tham Tapian Thong where he started to consecrate amulets.

As a matter of fact, Luang Phor Thongdum was the first monk who created the style of Phra Khun Paen JowSup JowSaneh. Up till now, Luang Phor Thongdum is still popular for his knowledge in both Dharma and Wicha. As he has also studied magic in Consecrating Phra Khun Paen amulets from Cambodian masters.

Jao Sup Jao Saneh amulet series was consecrated by Luang Phor Thongdum with ancient Katha from Cambodia one by one for more than one year. 

People also believed that Phra Khun Paen amulets consecrated by Luang Phor Thongdum would protect its wearer from black magic, evil spirits and bad luck. 

Luang Phor Thongdum (Luang Phor Thongdum) Wat Tham Tapian Thong is quite respected and worshipped by devotees in the central region of Thailand. The master was born on August 19, BE 2477, his father’s name is Sila, his mother’s name is Nong, and he has four children. With two sons and two daughters, Long Phor Tong Dan ranked third, mainly farming, and his family was poor, so the master only went to the 4th grade at that time, and he dropped out to help his parents to farm. At the age of 22, he officially ordained to become a monk to study Buddhism and Dharma. The preceptor is Phra Kru Virupthammaki, who obtained a master’s degree in Buddhism through his own efforts. Then he learned magic from Luang Phor Mun.

Afterwards, the master continued to follow many eminent monks and mages such as Azan Thongsook (the master is very famous for releasing surrender, and he is also very famous for stabbing symbols. At that time, the master followed the master to learn liberation and stabbing symbols, and also learned meditation) Luang Phor Ear, Famous teachers such as Luang Phor Pring, Luang Phor Kring, etc. learned spells and Buddhist principles, solved bowing heads, tattooing symbols, and meditation, and then the masters became abbots of temples.

After 12 years of abbot, in order to improve his mana cultivation, Luang Phor Thongdum gave up the post of abbot and practiced in the mountains. During the ascetic practice, he met Azan Hom and learned advanced spells from him. Ajahn Hom gave the master a unique secret book, a classic of ancient Thai magic. After saying goodbye to Ajahn Hom, Luang Phor Thongdum continued to practice asceticism until he found a cave where the master began to meditate.

At the beginning, the local people ignored him, until one day, a very poor man came to visit the master and brought him some food. The master gave him a takrut made by the master himself. He was beaten up by a few good people, but there was no injury after the inspection, so the name of the master spread slowly, and the towers made by the master began to be respectfully invited by many good believers.

During the years of Guru’s asceticism, even the fortune-making method of Luang Pu Toh Wat Pradoochimplee, the modern king of beating, and Luang Phor Ngern Wat Don Yai Hom were also handed down to Luang Phor Thongdum. Those who have been to the Guru’s temple will notice the connection There are several photos next to the counter of the amulet. One of them was the prime minister of Malaysia. According to legend, this person got acquainted with the amulet of Luang Phor Thongdum on the verge of bankruptcy and miraculously survived the difficulties, so he later donated money to build many temple facilities. .

In BE 2512 of the Buddhist calendar, sincere believers united to build a new meditation house for the master at the place where Luang Phor Thongdum practiced.

The thorn amulet of LP Thong Dan is quite famous in Thailand, and there have been many miraculous deeds, but it is said that later, because someone used the power of the master thorn amulet to do something wrong, LP Thong Dan no longer thorn amulet for people after knowing it.

It is known that there was a sensational case in Thailand in BE 2523 of the Buddhist calendar. A criminal who committed a serious crime used a sacred object made by LP Tong Dan to escape the pass. The master felt guilty and did not make sacred objects anymore. , except for making talismans for the frontier soldiers, no other sacred objects are made.

At that time, Luang Phor Thongdum was well-known, but he refused to produce holy objects. It was not until BE 2545 that the temple was expanded and the believers repeatedly asked for it. , so Luang Phor Thong Dan’s sacred objects are the most famous in the army. In the early years, he made some talismans and gave them to soldiers on the Thai border. The explosion behind him did not hurt him at all. In addition to Futong and Fubu, LP Tongdan is also best at making nine-faced rich Buddha, pharmacist, Chongdi, self-image, Kun Paen, Bidta, Lushi, among them Bidta, himself and nine-faced rich Buddha.
