But when it comes to Luang Phor Pring’s metal plates that were taken to the furnace the plate would not melt which surprised everyone that was present. It was once that after Luang Phor Pring recited additional spells that the plates would finally melted.
During the period between BE 2480 till BE 2485 whereby both the Indo-Chinese and World War 2 erupted. Many people moved to Wat Bangpakok to stay as they truly believed that Luang Phor Pring’s sacred power would save them. There was once a Japanese- military regiment that was located near Wat Bangpakok that resulted in several attacks by the United States Air Force. There is also a story about Luang Phor Pring. Due to his fame, many people had asked to become his disciple including HRH Prince Chumbhornket Udomsak, son of King Rama V.
It was said that after Prince Chumbhornket Udomsak became his disciple, Luang Phor Pring had given him an amulet, a piece of the forehead bone of Nangnark, the most ferocious ghost in Thai history. (The story of the ghost started out like this : From Bangkok’s Prakanong District, Maak(Husband) is sent to fight in a war and is required to leave his pregnant wife, Nark. Maak is injured in a shooting accident, and barely survives. He returns home to his wife and child, or so he thinks. Mysterious events start to occur.)
A close friend of Maak pays a visit to him one day and realises that Maak is still living together with his beloved wife, Nark. The villagers, known that Nark died in childbirth several months previously, realise what is happening that Maak is spell-bound by Nark’s ghost.
People who attempt to tell Maak, or who know too much, would be killed by Nark who becomes more active in her aggression due to her inability to accept her early death and her frantic desire to stay with her husband. Eventually Somdej Phra Buddhacharn Toh Promrungsi came and started reciting sacred spells to conquer her. He removed her forehead bone to create a special kind of sacred amulet. Since then no one has ever seen Nark again and Prakanong District returned to peaceful existence. (This whole account was turned into one of Thailand’s most popular ghost movies.)
It was also said that after Prince Chumbhornket Udomsak had brought Nangnark’s forehead bone to the royal palace, where some of his family members had witnessed her soul on two separate occasions.
ML Pramaha Sawang Seniwong Na Ayudhaya, the author of the biography of Somdej Phra Buddhacharn Toh Promrungsi, had recorded in his book that after Somdej Phra Buddhacharn Toh had passed away the piece of Nangnark’s forehead bone was given to Somdej Phra Buddhacharn Tud who later on given it to Luang Phor Pring Wat Bangpakok.
After it was given to Prince Chumbhornket Udomsak, he sent Nark to a peaceful place and no one has seen the bone and Nark again.
