KRUBA ORR

Kruba Orr is a well-known guru monk in the north of Thailand who was once a soldier of Shan (an ethnic group in Myanmar).

Kruba Orr was born in BE 2458 in Myanmar. In fact, he is a Shan that lives in the mountain near Thailand- Myanmar border. When he was at the age of 7 to 15, he was ordained as a novice monk then he disrobed in order to become a soldier to serve the nation in World War 2. Afterward, he was ordained again under Buddhist Patriarch of Shan officiating ordination for him. After his ordination, he started to learn magic from several guru monks that lived in the north part of Thailand. He kept on the magic of Shan.

Kruba Orr was a good monk as he lived simply and followed the rules of monk strictly. He liked to practice Dharma at deserted temples as he wanted the temple to have at least a monk to stay in the temple to keep Buddhism and help out the villagers . He was also kind to whoever that met him.

Kruba Orr became a monk when he was young, and he shaved his hair and became a monk in his twenties. After a period of time, he returned to secular life and became a priest of the Dai people. It’s the Year of the Ring.

Kruba Orr was obsessed with studying metaphysics since he was a child. He was a famous teacher of the Dai people at that time. He was often invited by Burmese dignitaries to perform rituals for them.

With his help, everyone made great progress, so they were honored as masters by the Dai people. After becoming a monk, Kruba Orr often adhered to the discipline of asceticism, and traveled to visit famous teachers to learn metaphysics. Ten years ago, he traveled to northern Thailand. On a mountain, when the master was meditating, suddenly a flash of light shot down from the sky. Kruba Orr felt that this place must be a holy place, so he began to build a temple here.

At first, only Kruba Orr was here alone. Sometimes there were villagers offering food at the foot of the mountain. Kruba Orr gave a talisman with a picture of a frog as a gift, and the villagers took it home and worshiped it. The business was established as a trader, and he decided to do his best to help Kruba Orr build a temple. He asked Kruba Orr to produce a frog relic, which became very popular. It turned out that the name of this relic was Pheya Kot Kin Lean, or Kot Kin Lean for short. Freely translated as the frog sucking the moon, it was originally only an offering type, but many villagers and believers asked for a wearing type, and it was sold out as soon as it came out.
